The 2024 election marked a pivotal moment in the ongoing cultural and political conversations surrounding women’s issues and feminism in America. Kamala Harris’s loss represents more than just a failed presidential bid—it highlights how far modern feminism has drifted from the priorities of everyday American women. For grassroots conservative women, the election results confirm what we’ve known all along: women want leadership grounded in real-world solutions, not condescension and empty slogans.
The Disconnect Between Modern Feminism and Women’s Real Needs
Modern feminists viewed Kamala Harris’s candidacy as a momentous opportunity—a chance to shatter the ultimate glass ceiling. However, Americans, including women, rejected her leadership, much like they did with other recent female Democratic candidates. The sentiment is clear: being a female candidate is not enough. Women want policies and a vision that prioritize their families, faith, and freedoms.
One glaring example of this disconnect was the Julia Roberts-narrated ad released late in the campaign. By insinuating that conservative women only vote the way their husbands dictate, the ad infantilized women rather than empowering them. The message completely ignored the fact that women, regardless of political affiliation, are fully capable of independent thought and making decisions that align with their values. As grassroots conservative women, we reject the Left’s patronizing narrative and demand respect for all women’s choices.
Women Vote on Real Issues, Not Gender
Exit polls revealed a stark reality for the Harris campaign: women care about a variety of issues, and being a female candidate wasn’t enough to win their votes. While the Left pinned hopes on Harris’s gender and the Dobbs decision to sway women, the results proved otherwise. Married women overwhelmingly supported Trump, with 51% voting for him compared to Harris’s 48%. Even more telling, Trump outperformed Harris among women compared to Biden’s numbers in 2020.
Why? Because women vote on real issues that affect their lives. For Trump voters, immigration and the economy topped the list, while Harris voters were focused on abstract concepts like “democracy.” Women, like men, vote for candidates who offer tangible solutions that can build a better future for their families and communities.
Feminism’s Radical Fringe Fails to Resonate
The aftermath of the election also highlighted how out of touch modern feminism has become. From women publicly embracing South Korea’s 4B movement, which rejects marriage, sex, and childbirth, to bizarre social media stunts like shaving their heads in protest of Trump’s win, the feminist response was extreme and disconnected from the aspirations of most American women.
The numbers tell the real story. The majority of American women dream of marriage and family. Among young adults aged 18-34, 69% want to get married, and 71% of women under 35 either have children or want to have children. Modern feminism’s rejection of these core desires has alienated women who value family and faith.
The Opportunity for Empowering Feminism
The results of this election reveal a critical need for a new approach to women’s empowerment—one rooted in freedom, opportunity, and respect for individual choices. Opportunity Feminism, which emphasizes policies that allow women to shape their own lives, is the answer. It’s time to leave behind the divisive rhetoric of modern feminism and embrace a movement that uplifts all women, regardless of political affiliation.
Grassroots conservative women are ready to lead this charge. We believe in empowering women to build strong families, pursue meaningful careers, and live out their faith without interference. The 2024 election showed us the path forward: rejecting the radicalism of modern feminism and embracing a version of feminism that champions opportunity and freedom.
The Future Is Bright for Conservative Women
Kamala Harris’s loss is not a loss for women—it’s a win for women who value policies over platitudes and substance over symbolism. The grassroots conservative movement continues to grow stronger because it represents the real priorities of American women: protecting families, ensuring economic opportunity, and defending the freedoms that make this country great.
The 2024 election reaffirmed what we’ve always known: when women are free to choose, they’ll choose leadership that aligns with their values. Together, we’ll continue building a movement that empowers women to thrive on their terms.
